Using a $5 Raspberry Pi Zero and $8 in parts you can create a platform for learning to code hardware. This simple to build platform has inputs and outputs to the real world. Including LEDs, a push button, slide switch, temperature sensor, photo sensor and piezo speaker connected to the Pi GPIO. Check out the slides from my presentation to learn more.
